Fun – tick! Sun – tick! Poker – tick! It’s the Caribbean Poker Party

By Mad Harper

The eagerly-awaited Caribbean Poker Party starts today  in gorgeous Playa Bavaro in Punta Cana. And as if sun, fun and poker weren’t enough reasons to be competing in the Caribbean, this year’s festival features total prize pool guarantees of $10,000,000.

MainEventTravel is offering great rates at the main Melia Resort. Our rooms are in the same complex as the tournament venue so conveniently located and fantastic value for players who haven’t won packages.

Our rooms at the Melia are just $1,600 for a week-long stay, single occupancy from November 19-26. For two people sharing, the cost drops to $1,000 each, offering significant savings on the rates at The Level.

The Caribbean Poker Party is running from November 17-25 and features an action-packed festival line up with all kinds of buy-in levels – including the $5,300 buy-in Main Event with $5 million guarantee. Players can enter as many Day 1s as they like with their largest stack being carried through to Day 2. The festival schedule also includes the $1,100 Eurasian Poker Tour Caribbean (with $1 million guarantee), the $10,300 Kings High Roller, the $25,500 Kings High Roller and $2,700 Playground 8-Max.

As well as a ton of poker, this year’s Caribbean Poker Party also features lots of off the felt fun as well, from complimentary welcome drinks and cocktail parties to golf days, catamaran trips, zip lines and unmissable nightclub evenings.

Last year, Scottish pro Niall Farrell took it down for $335,000 after beating a 323-strong field. Farrell, who has just won his first WSOP bracelet after taking down the WSOPE €25k High Roller in Rozvadov and then finished  fifth in the WSOPE Main Event , hasn't confirmed whether he’ll be heading back to Punta Cana to defend his title.
