With an atmosphere more like the World Series than a UK poker tournament, you would expect Goliath to have an eclectic mix of players. And it’s certainly true that, while the majority of Goliath players are from Ireland and the UK, Europe’s biggest live tournament does attract entrants from all over the world. 

Over the last ten years, players from multiple countries around the globe have made their way to Coventry for Grosvenor Poker’s annual extravaganza. From the far corners of the British Isles, and way beyond, players flock to the West Midlands to test their skills in the record-breaking £150 buy-in Main Event and give themselves the chance of winning life-changing prize money.

This year’s Goliath is taking place from July 27 to August 6 at the Coventry Building Society Arena. This year’s Grosvenor Goliath festival promises to be the biggest y­­­­et after a record-breaking year in 2022. The Goliath festival is Europe’s biggest live poker tournament and – aside from the online years of 2020 and 2021 - has broken records every year since it first took place in 2011. 2023 marks the 11th edition of the event and organisers are expecting that this year’s Main Event prize pool could top £1.5 million. At last year’s event, there were 10,584 entries creating a prize pool of £1,219,270.
