Scott Calvank's partner Bridgette was on the rail tonight and she mentioned he was really looking to win a ring. He came pretty close earlier this week in the opening game when he was in the final three, but had to settle for third place in the Big 30 Stack.

Tonight he came through for the win, though, with a strong performance. As someone who plays a pretty wide range, Calvank can be hard to figure out, and he found ways to get there on a few hands, including a hand three ways when he turned a boat with nine-four after tripping the flop. He did the main damage heads up to Brett Worton with the best of it, however, when his pocket sevens held against an ace-deuce shove from Worton.

The $22k score tonight won't quite be his biggest score -- that happened in May 2023 when he was 3rd in Event #4 here at Deerfoot with a score of a bit more than $23k -- but it will be his second biggest score, besting his $11k from earlier this week for 3rd in the Big 30. Not only was this Calvank's first Ring, but it was his first live win as well.

Brett Worton was in rough shape after he had to double Scott Calvank's sevens. That left him pretty short, and it didn't take long to get the rest in. Worton limp-called the shove from Calvank, and flopped huge draws with his on . Calvank still had the technical best with and Worton's draws bricked out on turn and river.

Gerald Chung is a bit of a Seniors specialist with a couple of wins on the other local tour in this event, but he is still looking for his first Circuit ring after he couldn't make it past third tonight. A big part of the damage happened when Scott Calvank turned a straight against Chung's top-top but the final blow was dealt by Brett Worton.

The limped to a flop where Worton hit top pair and Chung had a diamond draw. The money went in and Chung bricked his draw to hit the cage for the first payout over $10k tonight.

Morand had the best of it with ace-four against ten-nine for Worton. It looked like Morand would double but Worton spiked a nine on the river and they are down to three.

Cliff Green shoved 140k from the middle and Rafa Verdugo called from the button. Verdugo was best with against but Green spiked a jack on the flop of and got the double to about 300k while Verdugo still has a bit more than that after sending the double to Green.

They are down to 8 in the Seniors now after Kelt Davies ended his day in 9th place. I still haven't had much of a chance to watch the action as I've been getting other backend stuff sorted.

The Seniors are down to the final table now with 9 players Left alive. Ali Razzaq was the player to bust the 10-handed FT first. Pictures for the rest of the final table are below.

The seniors game is in Level 6 with that action just beginning and blinds at 300/600/600. There are 295 entries on the board with a bit more than 90 minutes left in late registration so it seems clear this field will break 300 entries pretty easily.

I won't have eyes on this game until later today as I'll be paying attention to Day 2 of the 4-Flight until it finishes, but the 50+ game is my second priority today, so this will get coverage once the 4-Flight awards the ring.

It's time for the Seniors' event on Sunday with action kicking off at 11 am in the Sundance room. The game is a restricted entry event open only to players aged 50 or over.

Players sit down with 20k in chips for 30 minute levels throughout the day. Late entries will be accepted until the start of Level 9, which should be about 3:30 pm. There is a 45-minute dinner break following Level 12.

I likely won't have eyes on this one until the end, if at all. My main focus will be Day 2 of the 4-flight on Sunday, but the Seniors' game will be my #2 priority for Sunday, so I plan to move to here once the 4-Flight finishes.
