Things were going smooth for the start-of-the-day chip leader Aigars Petrovs, but we are certain he would like to take the following hand back after his stack took a big dent. Meanwhile, Algirdas Sukys (pictured below), who already had some chips in his stack, became the latest to pass 500,000 in chips.
It was a four-bet pot with about 140,000 in the middle when Sukys bet 40,000 on the rainbow flop. Petrovs jacked it up to 100,000 before Sukys jammed for 197,000.
Petrovs tanked for a few minutes before a player at the table called time.
The floor began counting down the seconds and Petrovs took this opportunity to enjoy a sip of his coffee. He eventually called with less than five seconds remaining.

The three opening flights attracted 345 entries with 103 players advancing. These figures will continue to grow with late registration remaining open until the start of the second blind level of Day 2.
Latvia's Aigars Petrovs (pictured above) leads the way after catapulting his 30,000 starting stack into 427,000 on Day 1b. Nobody else is very close but several other players advanced into Day 2
including Day 1a chip leader Aurimas Stanevicius (270,500), Aurelijus Sipavicius (259,000), Marek Zigel (251,000), Paulius Vaitiekunas (245,500), Edgaras Truskauskas (238,000), Mantas Nanartavicius (235,000), Paulius Zilinskas (228,000), Kasparas Klezys (214,000), and Erikas Laugzemys (209,000).
The Ace Breaker tradition will continue, meaning that any player who cracks another player's aces at showdown during an all-in and a call will be awarded a special Ace Breaker cocktail as they did during the three opening flights.
