The action became hot and heavy at the 2024 OlyBet Vilnius Showdown Jacks of June with the €555 Main Event breaking a new OlyBet Vilnius Showdown record with 390 entries getting into the mix to create a €187,200 prize pool.
The field was deep in the money Thursday evening with just 21 players remaining, led by Lithuania’s Martynas Kaulakys (pictured above).
Meanwhile, basketball fans also enjoyed the atmosphere at Olympic Casino Vilnius thanks to OlyBet celebrating its partnership with the Euroleague with a special tournament awarding added autographed basketballs. Matas Sabulis came out on top for a memorable evening for many in attendance.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Dewerdt and Liutauras Armanavicius won tickets valued at €1,500 each to the 2024 WSOP Circuit Main Event. The festival returns to Tallinn for an extended week of action deep into the summer from July 19-28.
Who Will Win the Jacks of June Main Event on Friday?
The Jacks of June Main Event witnessed players battle for nine blind levels of one hour each on Thursday, with the action ending with just 21 hopefuls set to battle on Friday’s final day, with the action recommencing on Friday at 12 p.m. with blinds at 10,000/20,000 and a 20,000 big blind ante.
Local hero Martynas Kaulakys will kick off the action with a substantial chip-leading stack of 1,975,000 after ending the day picking off chips from his opponents. Two other players are chip millionaires to start Day 2, including Lithuania’s Rokas Skridulis (1,170,000) and Greece’s Enea Subashi (1,025,000).
Just three players in the field wave flags outside the home country of Lithuania, and all are in the top 10. In addition to Subashi, Germany’s Fabian Bartuschk (590,000) and Sweden’s Johan Aakesson (490,000) hope to deny the Lithuanian poker community yet another big title on their home soil.
Meanwhile, a pair of brothers are in the mix with the start of Day 2 chip leader Rytis Sandaras bagging up 555,000 and his brother Aistis Sandaras bringing in one of the shorter stacks with 320,000.
WSOP bracelet winner Karolis Semeika is hoping to add a local title to his impressive poker resume with a fourth-place stack of 980,000 while many other popular players are still in the mix, including Ovidijus Berenes (885,000), Vasilijus Piskunovas (630,000), Tomas Bassus (440,000), 2020 Fisherman Challenge Main Event champion Martynas Racinskas (390,000), Vitalijus Kuzmicius (385,000), Vytautas Kacerauskas (335,000), Paulius Mikaliunas (255,000), and Stanlislovas Vinicenka (140,000).
Several other big names were among the 47 players to make the money only to fall short of the final day including Modestas Kryzanauskas (25th - €1,450), Algirdas Saveikis (31st - €1,450), Laurynas Cerniauskas (32nd - €1,450), Deividas Daubaris (40th - €1,270), Vygerdas Jonikas (41st - €1,090), and James Grogan (46th - €1,090).
In the case of Grogan, he had the chip lead throughout most of the opening hours of Day 2 but shared multiple times during the day that all he wanted to do was min-cash as he had an early flight he didn’t want to reschedule. He had a small sweat on the money bubble after he lost a good portion of his stack but squeezed in at the end and was thrilled to cash after qualifying to the event via a €30 live satellite at Olympic Casino Vilnius.

The excitement continues, with late registration still open during the first blind level of Thursday’s Day 2 when the action resumes at 1 p.m.
Day 2 will boast nine blind levels of one-hour each instead of the 40-minute levels on Day 1a and Day 1b and the 25-minute levels on Day 1c. This provides plenty of more play for players as they run deeper and deeper into the Main Event.
Rytis Sandaras Still Leads Main Event
Local hero Rytis Sandaras (pictured above) transformed his 30,000 starting stack into the Day 1a chip-leading stack of 283,000 in the OlyBet Vilnius Showdown Jacks of June €555 Main Event. His impressive performance on Tuesday kept him at the top of the leaderboard throughout yesterday’s Day 1b and Day 1c.
Three players advancing from Day 1b also will start Day 2 with at least 200,000 in chips including Day 1b chip leader Kazimieras Ramaska (237,000), Ireland’s James Grogan (231,500), Martynas Racinskas (206,000), and Paulius “Mellow-Peach” Mikaliunas (194,500).
Meanwhile, Audrius Navickas bagged the Day 1c chip lead with 142,000. While this didn’t crack the top 10 on the leaderboard below, it does give him a healthy place to start Day 2 when the action resumes on Thursday, June 6 at 1 p.m. when he will resume the action in 15th place overall.
