888poker keeps celebrating with a return to The Poker Room in April

888poker is hosting its first-ever High Stakes festival next month with a return visit to the Poker Room at London’s celebrated Victoria Casino. The upcoming 888poker LIVE London High Stakes Festival is part of 888poker’s year-long celebration of its 20th anniversary – and London is very much in the spotlight.

888poker has already hosted two events in the UK capital this year:  the 888poker Live Festival in January and the 888poker Weekend Live in February. The January event proved a thrilling start to 888poker’s 2022 anniversary. Not only was there a massive turnout for the Main Event – with 642 entries creating a £513,600 prize pool – but it was also announced that Chris Eubank Jr, the current World Boxing Association middleweight #1, was joining 888poker as the site’s new Cultural Ambassador.

Now, yet again, London will be at the centre of 888poker’s programme of live events. The forthcoming High Stakes festival features nine separate tournaments from April 20 to May 1 offering 12 full days of high-octane poker right in the heart of the city. The Poker Room at the Vic is one of the most prestigious poker venues in Europe – and lies close to all of London’s main sights and attractions.

The High Stakes festival Main Event has a £1,888 + £212 buy-in and starts April 28 with three different start flights – including a Day 1c 20-minute turbo. All players get a 20,000 starting stack and unlimited re-entries are permitted and late registration is open until the draw is displayed for Day 2.

In addition to the Main Event, other tournaments on the schedule include the three-day £888 + £112 buy-in Poker Cup which kicks off the festival on April 21 as well as the £300 + £30 Voyage tournament, the 888 Big Shot which has a £400+£44 buy-in, two PLO tournaments, a £3,000 buy-in High Roller, a Seniors event and a Mystery Bounty.

Naturally, 888poker is hosting a ton of online satellites for the High Stakes Main Event with buy-ins starting from just 1c running right up to the $109 qualifiers. 

888poker is planning more fun events this year as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations so keep your eyes peeled for news of upcoming events and promotions.

At the 888poker Live Festival in January, Bhavin Khatri took down the Main Event for £126,340 while Jamie O’Connor bested a 93-entry field to win the High Roller for £57,650. In February. Joe Hindry topped a field of 602 entries at the 888poker Weekend Live to win £60,000, the lion’s share of the £240,000 prize pool. Only a few weeks later, Hindry topped that career-best cash when he went on to win Leg 2 of the GUKPT in Coventry for £93,460.

MainEventTravel has dozens of hotels available for players competing at the 888poker LIVE London High Stakes Festival – ranging from luxury to budget options. Many are just a few yards from the Vic so super convenient if you’d like to stay within walking distance of the venue.
