French player Caroline Fauvel took down the €1,200 PMU.fr WPTN Deauville 2016 Main Event on Sunday after beating Samir Abbar heads-up for the €87,000 prize. A total of 388 players entered the tournament, held at beautiful Casino Barriere Deauville. Former French Player of the Year and PMU.fr Team Pro Erwann Pecheux, who was on his eighth final table, finished fifth for €21,460.
Fauvel is now the first French woman to win a WPT National title. The first place prize far eclipsed her total live winnings to date and gave her her first ever live event trophy.
