British pro Jake Cody has proved he’s not just a whizz at poker, he’s also a dab hand when it comes to making video blogs as well. The EPT Deauville champion recently relocated to Florida with girlfriend Alex and daughter Ariana and has been documenting his progress over there with a series of funny and informative video posts. The first “pilot” episode, posted November 13, has already attracted well over 21,000 views on YouTube and Cody has now followed it up with two more video posts direct from the Sunshine State.
Cody, who hails from Rochdale and has now been playing poker professionally for a decade, shot to fame on the live scene when he took down EPT Deauville in 2010 for €857,000. Since then, he has amassed more than $4 million in live tournament winnings and is one of only five players to have amassed the Triple Crown of Poker: an EPT title, WPT title (London, 2010) and WSOP bracelet ($25k Heads-Up Championship, 2011).
The next chance to see Cody in action (with or without his camera) will be at EPT Prague which kicks off in two weeks’ time. Cody, who has made three EPT final tables including his Deauville victory, will be in with his last chance to become a two-time EPT champion. From January, EPTs are being rebranded as PokerStars Championship events, with the first one being PokerStars Championship Bahamas, starting January 6 at Atlantis.
