Britain’s Toby Lewis has won the biggest score of his live poker career, taking down the Aussie Millions Main Event in Melbourne for A$1,458,198 – more than £815,000.

Lewis, a former EPT champion, was chip leader going into today’s final at the Crown Casino before putting on what PokerNews described as an “absolutely dominant display of poker.” After local qualifier Chul-Hyon Park bust in fourth place, Lewis cut an ICM deal with Swiss πlayer Stefan Huber and Norway’s Espen Solaas which guaranteed him over $1.3 million.
After his victory, Toby posted on Instragram saying: “Won it. Amazing few days. ???????????????? thanks to everyone that reached out, means so much. Huge win!”
There were 800 entries to the A$10,000 Main Event creating a A$8 million prize pool with 88 making the money. Lewis, 28, from Southampton, now has more than $4.3 in live tournament winnings. His biggest cash before today was winning EPT Vilamoura in 2010 for €467,836.
