Irish player Niall McAree took down last weekend’s partypoker Grand Prix Cork Main Event. His €25,000 prize was a career-best live cash and more than six times his total live tourney winnings to date.
The Main Event was held in the Macau Sporting Club in Cork and despite the horrendous weather – with Storm Doris battering much of the country, 426 players made it to Cork for a crack at the €100,000 guarantee. As it happens, the large field meant the €127,800 prize pool was way over the guarantee, with the top 47 finishers getting a share.
Among those who cashed were partypoker VIP manager Charlie Godwin for €730 and partypoker Ambassador Natalia Breviglieri who finished in 35th place for €820.
