Players have been thrilled to hear that one of the UK’s most popular poker events – the United Kingdom Poker Championships (UKPC) – will be revived early next year by GGPoker and Dusk Till Dawn.
The highlight of the festival will be a £560 buy-in Main Event that comes with a mouth-watering $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. Two online Day 1s will take place on GGPoker (starting on January 7) with the live Day 1s getting underway at Dusk Till Dawn from January 11. All players will kick off with a 200,000 starting stack, with a single re-entry allowed per flight.
The schedule closely mirrors the last UKPC schedule with both a High Roller and Super High Roller in the mix, albeit at slightly reduced buy-in levels. The Super High Roller has a £2,700 buy-in and both High Rollers – there is also a 6-max version – have buy-ins of £1,100. Other events on the busy schedule include the two-day £230 UKPC Warm-up – which comes with a £100,000 guaranteed prize pool, a 7-Max Knockout, a 6-Max Knockout, PLO. The full festival runs from January 11 to January 16. A total of £800,000 in guaranteed prize pools is on offer during the festival.

The relaunch of the UKPC comes after Dusk Till Dawn’s owner Rob Yong sounded out the poker community last year, asking players on Twitter if they would like the event to make a comeback. The answer was a resounding “yes” with dozens of players giving the plan a big thumbs up – including Ben Dobson, Paul Romain and former finalist Carl Jones. Many also offered advice on what the structure and buy-in should be – requesting an affordable buy-in and single re-entry to boost the number of recreational players able to take part.
The UKPC has been on hiatus since 2018. At the last event, Christopher Brice took down the £1,100 Main Event for £187,500 after outlasting a 1,076-entry field. Steven Morris finished fifth for £40k only days after winning the £5,300 Super High Roller for £70k. The High Roller was won by Jake Cody for £42,670.
Dusk Till Dawn always has a great roster of live events going on. The club was launched in 2007 by avid poker player Rob Yong and was designed “specifically as a place to poker”. It has stayed true to its roots ever since. The 45-table venue now hosts some of the biggest tournaments in Europe – including the UKIPT, the APAT World Championship of Amateur Poker, partypoker’s Grand Prix tournaments and the MILLIONS UK. The club also has a ton of cash game tables starting from as low as £1/£1 NLHE and PLO.
