Former November Niner Vojetch Ruzicka has made history at the partypoker MILLIONS at Dusk Till Dawn by winning the UK’s first £1m guaranteed £10k High Roller for £284,210.
Ruzicka, who finished fifth at the WSOP last year for £1,935,288, now has some $3.5m in live tournament winnings and is ranked 2nd on the Czech Republic’s all time money list. He cut a heads-up ICM deal with runner-up Bartlomiej Machon from Poland before seizing victory, the title and coveted trophy. There were 110 entries in all, creating a £1,067,000 prize pool with 11 paid.
Among those who cashed were third-placed British pro Tom Hall (£142,000), partypoker pro Joao Simao (5th, for £85,000), American poker pro Jason Wheeler (6th, for £65,000), Dutch High Roller regular Govert Metaal and last year’s WPT Bay 101 champion Stefan Schillhabel.
partypoker MILLIONS Main Event
The last Live Day 1 of the £6m guaranteed partypoker MILLIONS Main Event also took place yesterday, with Britain’s Francis Foord-Brown leading the pack after bagging up 7,700,000. The event is now close to its £6m guarantee – with a guaranteed £1m first prize for the winner. There are some 468 players through to Day 2 but players can still enter – or re-enter – up to the end of the first Day 2 break today, approximately 3.50pm BST
The partypoker MILLIONS is already proving to be one of the most exciting tournaments ever to take place in the UK. A host of online satellites and live Day 1s across Europe have created a giant field for Day 2 – and some players are already through to Day 3 including WPT Brussels champion Sergio Castellucio and online pro Luciana Manolea. Day 3 will see players from all over Europe converge on Dusk Till Dawn after making through Day 2s in Vienna, St. Vincent and San Remo.
As well as the Main Event, the live schedule at partypoker MILLIONS includes a £25k Super High Roller, £2,500 8-Max, DTD 200 and DTD 200 Turbo, £2,500 6-Max Turbo and £200 Ladies Event. A wealth of other activities are on offer as well including a Zorb football match, golf day, horse racing and the ICED Millions Players Party tomorrow night (April 21).
Other big stacks and notables through to Day 2 of the Main Event include 2015 WPT Nottingham Main Event champion Iaron Lightbourne (5,706,000), Steven Warburton (5,000,000), former back-to-back World Poker Tour champion Marvin Rettenmaier (3,758,000), WPT Montreal champ Mike Sexton (2,571,500), tennis legend Boris Becker (1,992,000) and partypoker Ambassador Tony Dunst (1,630,000). They will be joined by Dominik Nitsche, Paul Newey, David Vamplew, Griffin Benger, James Akenhead, Roberto Romanello, Max Silver, Ian Simpson, Rainer Kempe, Ludovic Geilich, Martin Jacobson, Ollie Price and Stephen Woodhead.
EPT Sanremo champion Liv Boeree and partypoker ambassador Sam Trickett both qualified for Day 2 last November during the partypoker Caribbean Adventure in Punta Cana. They've waited five months for their Day 2, but they will be keener than ever to grab a share of the prize-pool, especially the £1 million top prize.
