More than 25 players have won an incredible £4,000 trip to Vegas this summer thanks to Grosvenor Poker’s “Road to Vegas” promotion. Grosvenor has been running weekly qualifiers for the last ten weeks and there are now just a few weeks to go. This year’s winners include Lesley Thompson who managed to snag her £4k package for just £1 after successfully working her up through the satellites to the £225 weekly final.
Two players won their packages in online freerolls run by Grosvenor Ambassadors Jamie Nixon and Katie Swift while another player picked up their prize in the Mystery Bounty event at the UK Open. The Grosvenor team includes Katie Swift, Andy Hills, Rick Trigg, Euan McNicholas and 2022 Player of the Year Matt Davenport.
The £4,000 package includes the $1k buy-in for the Mini Main Tournament along with flights, seven nights’ accommodation at The Linq Hotel, spending money, Welcome Drinks, excursions, shows, dinners and a trip to Beer Park. The last qualifier on Grosvenor Poker is May 28.
Grosvenor Ambassador Jamie Nixon said: “We’re taking the Grosvenor qualifiers out on the 30th June and we’re all going to play the $1,000 Mini Main. We’ll also be showing them the sights in Vegas - a few nights out, including Beer Park and maybe Topgolf too!”
Nixon is going to stay on after the Grosvenor qualifiers’ week to compete in the WSOP Main Event. He added: “I’m hoping it’ll be third time lucky as I haven’t cashed it yet! My hopes are to play my best and I’m also hoping that all the work I’ve put in will culminate in a very deep run in a WSOP event. My best result is 12th back in 2021 in the $800 No Limit Hold'em Deepstack, so I’m hoping to go 11 better this year!”
Grosvenor Ambassador Katie Swift added: “I’m going to be in Vegas for a month in all – playing a mixed schedule of tournaments and cash games, and of course co-hosting the #TeamGrosvenor Road To Vegas trip which is always amazing! I can’t wait to be back in Vegas – it feels very much like a summer home for me – and hopefully this will be my best year yet!”
Tom Hudson, Head of Omnichannel Poker at Grosvenor, said: “It’s great to have our Road to Vegas promotion back for 2023. It’s a fantastic poker trip and we will make sure the qualifiers are really well looked after this summer. Everyone is playing the Mini Main and we also have lots of fun things planned. It’s a dream trip for the players and there are so many amazing things you can do in Vegas when you aren’t building a pile of chips! Quite a few of the qualifiers have been with us before which is brilliant to see and there are still plenty of players in the hunt in these final two Super Satellites!”
