The Unibet Open is heading to Malta for the fourth time this week with a five-day festival at the InterContinental Hotel in St. Julian’s.
With its wonderful sunny weather, gorgeous beaches and thriving nightlife, Malta is a perfect destination for poker players. This year’s Unibet Open Malta kicks off next Wednesday, with the €1,000 + €100 Main Event starting the next day (Thursday, September 12.)
MainEventTravel has a wealth of accommodation options in St Julian’s including the chance to stay at the five-star Intercontinental Hotel where the tournament is taking place.
As well as the flagship Main Event, highlights of the #ShuffleUpAndSea festival include a two-day €500 + €50 Unibet Deepstack Open, the popular €80 + €10 #QueenRules Ladies Event, €165 Turbo and Hyperturbo tournaments, a €220 single re-entry Pot Limit Omaha event and €175 NLH Progressive Superknockout.
Unibet Ambassador David Lappin said: “Malta is the stop that consistently gets the best feedback from players and it’s easy to see why! Sun, Sea and Poker, what could possibly beat that? It’s a home stop for me as I live just ten minutes from the venue. I’m a regular in the casino which is the best on the island and when Unibet Poker comes to town, they step up their game even more to make sure the players enjoy a top-notch experience. I look forward to welcoming tons of players to this fabulous destination.”
Fellow Unibet Ambassador Ian Simpson added: "I’m really happy to be coming back to Malta again for the Unibet open. The four Unibet opens each year are highlights on my poker calendar and Malta is one of my favourite stops. Lots of sunshine, plenty of poker action and very good ice cream to console myself with whenever I bust!"
Off the felt, there will be plenty of opportunities for players to have fun at Unibet Open Malta. The Intercontinental Hotel venue is in the heart of St Julian’s, one of the island’s top tourist resorts.
The final stop of 2019 will be Unibet Open Paris from November 28 to December 1 - details to follow soon.
