WPT gets busy Stateside

Two huge WPT events are taking place in the States over the coming months – WPT Choctaw starting July 23 in Durant, Oklahoma and the WPT bestbet Scramble kicking off August 27 in Jacksonville, Florida. 

WPT Choctaw
A mouth-watering $1 million guarantee is up for grabs in the WPT Choctaw Main Event. The full festival dates are July 15 – 27 with the five-day Main Event starting July 23. There are 40 tournaments on the schedule in total, making this a must-attend festival as poker starts getting back to normal across the US. The popular event had to be cancelled last year owing to the pandemic so the defending champion remains Craig Varnell who achieved a career-best cash after beating off competition from 577 entries in the $3,700 buy-in event in 2019. 

The schedule also includes a $200k guarantee NL tourney, PLO tourney, Deepstack and Bounty tournaments as well as Ladies Event, Congress Big O High Low, Jack-n-Jill team event and Seniors Championship.        

WPT bestbet Scramble

Another $1 million guarantee Main Event guarantee is on offer at WPT bestbet Scramble which is taking place in Jacksonville in August. The 18-day festival starts August 13 with the $1 million, $5k buy-in Main Event starting on August 27. 

Like WPT Choctaw, WPT bestbet Scramble had to skip the 2020 edition so the defending champion remains American player Joshua Adkins who boosted his lifetime live poker winnings by $331,480 after beating a 349-entry field in 2019.

There are some 20 events on the WPT bestbet Scramble schedule including H.O.R.S.E., PLO and Bounty tournaments.
