It’s a packed schedule for WPT fans this Autumn with a ton of great events happening all over the world including Season 18 of the Asia-Pacific series.
In September, there are tournaments all over the place - in the UK, Vietnam, Marrakech and Korea as well as flagship festivals in the USA such as the WPT Borgata Poker Open and WPT Maryland.
October’s schedule includes the WPT bestbet Bounty Scramble in Jacksonville, Florida plus WPT Montreal in Canada and WPTDeepstacks UK at Dusk Till Dawn.
WPT Asia-Pacific Swing
WPT Vietnam, WPT Korea, WPT Australia, WPT India and WPT Cambodia are all part of the nine-stop WPT Asia-Pacific Swing series. The tour underlies the WPT Asia-Pacific Player of the Year title with the top points earner receiving a $10,000 WPT Passport for next season along with other perks. Two runners-up receive a $3,500 package and a $1,500 package, respectively
The series incorporates some well-established stops alongside new events and is already underway with WPT Vietnam (September 6-11) in Ho Chi Minh City. On September 20, WPT Korea kicks off in Incheon and features a KRW 250 million guarantee Main Event, a Super High Roller and Single Day High Roller. WPT Australia is a brand new stop and the WPT’s first ever event in the country. It’s being held October 4-7 at the luxurious Star Gold Coast with ten events in total and buy-ins ranging from A$330 to A$5,000, including the A$2,500 buy-in Main Event.
Leg 5 of the tour is WPT India in Goa, the tour’s third visit there. WPT India runs October 15 to 21 at Deltin Royale Casino Goa with a INR 55,000 (approx.. US$ 800) buy-in Main Event starting October 18. This stop consistently attracts a large turnout with last year’s event drawing an Asian tour record of 697 entries. The final Asia-Pacific Swing stop of the year is WPT Cambodia from November 16-25 at Nagaworld in the capital city of Phnom Penh. There’s 17 tournaments on the schedule including the $250k guarantee Main Event, Single Day High Roller, standard High Roller and High Roller Turbo. This is a great chance to combine poker with world-class sightseeing at the Angkor Wat temple complex.
USA & Europe action
The WPT Seminole Rock 'N' Roll Poker Open kicks off at the end of November followed by the iconic WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December.
Back in Europe, the countdown is on for WPT UK, the next main tour stop of a series of fantastic joint events put on by the WPT and partypoker LIVE. Running from September 22 to October 6 at Nottingham’s Dusk Till Dawn, the tournament series will feature a £3,300 buy-in Main Event with a huge £1.5 million guarantee. The packed tournament schedule at Dusk Till Dawn also features a £500,000 guaranteed WPT Opener and ever-popular £1,650 buy-in WPTDeepstacks UK which also has a £500,000 guarantee (October 3-6).
WPTDeepstacks Marrakech is running September 14-22 at the glamourous Casino de Marrakech. If you haven’t been, this is a gorgeous, vibrant city and September is a fantastic time to visit. This is the seventh consecutive year for the WPT in Marrakech and the third featuring the WPTDeepStacks. Casino de Marrakech is a part of the luxurious Es Saadi Resort, located just a 10-minute drive from Marrakesh Menara Airport, and boosts hotels, restaurants, bars, theatre, and spas for a diverse experience. If you are looking for sun, culture, and relaxation to go with your time at the tables, then Marrakech is the perfect setting for you. The highlight of the 2019 festival will, of course once again, be the WPTDeepStacks 13,200 MAD (approx. €1,200) Marrakech Main Event, which will run across September 19-22.
The final European stop of the year is WPTDeepstacks Brussels from November 14-17.
