The WPT Fallsview Poker Classic Main Event takes place this weekend at the spectacular Fallsview Casino Resort. The overall poker festival actually gets underway today with a $1,100 opening event while the three-day $5,000 Main Event kicks off on Saturday. There is just one start flight with a single re-entry option. There are also live super satellites running at the casino this week.

Last year’s winner was American Darren Elias who beat a 489-strong field to win C$429,384. Brighton-based German pro Manig Loeser was among the finalists, finishing 5th for C$107,399. The total prize pool was more than C$2.2 million.
Fallsview Casino Resort, dubbed Canada’s largest and most elegant gaming resort, is built on a cliff overlooking the world-famous Niagara Falls. As well as a gazillion slot machines and table games alongside a luxury hotel, Fallsview also has a 1,500 seat theatre so, if you tire of poker (or bust!), you can always go check out the Michael Jackson-themed “Man in the Mirror” show (February 17-19) or see award-winning comedian and actor Chris Rock (February 22-24).
WPT fun continues towards the end of February with the WPT LA Poker Classic at the Commerce Casino. The prestigious $10K buy-in Main Event runs February 24 to March 1 and is set to attract the biggest players in the world.
In March, the WPT heads to Argentina for a fantastic event at Iguazu Falls. This is a great chance to see the fabulous Falls which are considered one of the seven wonders of the world! The five-day poker festival will be held at Casino Iguazú close to both the majestic Falls and the border with Brazil.
