The GUKPT is BACK!

After a 16-month hiatus, the GUKPT will be back in force next week with Leg 1 of a brand new 2021 season. 

 

There will be seven stops in all this year – starting with a spectacular event at the Poker Room above the iconic Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London from July 15-25. The season takes in visits to Manchester, Edinburgh, Leeds, Luton and Blackpool before returning to London for the GUKPT Grand Final in December.

 

Among those taking part in the first festival are Grosvenor Ambassadors Katie Swift, Jamie Nixon and Richard Trigg as well as numerous well-known poker pros. The GUKPT, now in its 15th season, is Grosvenor Poker’s flagship tour and the longest-running poker tour in the UK. 

 

Last year’s GUKPT was interrupted by the pandemic after just two events, following an amazing 2019 season which saw British poker pro Ben Winsor become the first ever two-time GUKPT Grand Final champion. At the beginning of last year, Romanian player Artan Dedusha beat a 379-entry field to win £137,430 in the first event in London, followed by Ben Dobson winning in Manchester for £75,510.

Leg 1 – London – July 15-25, 2021

As well as the £200,000 guarantee Main Event, the forthcoming festival at the Poker Room also includes the £100k guarantee Midi Main, the £340 buy-in Mini Main, an Omaha 4/5/6 event, Seniors event and £2,200 NL tournament.

Grosvenor Ambassador Katie Swift said: “London GUKPT will be my first live poker game since pre pandemic and wow what a way to return! I can’t wait to be sat playing live poker, riffling chips, holding cards and with any luck winning money and securing my first Hendon Mob result for 2021. 

“In addition to being excited to play live poker again, I’m massively looking forward to seeing poker people again and socialising with them all. We have a lot of catching up to do so I’m sure there will be a buzz in the atmosphere and players will enjoy seeing the return of live GUKPT festival again. I just hope I can remember how to hold my poker face! Let the countdown begin!
