The Poker Room at the Vic

The Vic has legendary status for poker players with one of the longest-running and busiest card rooms in the capital. The Poker Room, which officially opened in 2013 after a full renovation. It is not only renowned for its cash games but also hosts major festivals throughout the year. Players are to follow ThePokerRoom on Twitter and/or download the Grosvenor Poker Live mobile app for iOS or Google Play.

The Poker Room boasts 35 poker tables as well as 20 slot machines, electronic roulette plus classic casino table games such as dice and Blackjack. Facilities include a restaurant and late-night bar along with screens showing live sporting action from Sky Sports, day or night. Players at the Poker Room are also eligible to take part in Grosvenor’s National Bad Beat Jackpot which runs across all Grosvenor’s casinos around the country.  Regular tournaments at the Poker Room include the £100 buy-in Thursday Turbo, the £135 Wednesday NLH tourney and Sunday Grind Turbos with £150 buy-in.

Grosvenor Ambassador Katie Swift said: “The Vic is an iconic Grosvenor Casino in the UK and the Poker Room there is one of my favourites. With Hyde Park being so close by, I love walking through there before playing and sometimes enjoying a freshly stone-baked pizza at the park’s Serpentine Lake café Benugo. It’s a really beautiful spot to sit and enjoy the calmness and some fresh air before playing poker inside for the rest of the day and night!”

Katie also highly rates food options at The Vic but, if she has a chance to eat out, heads to Jaffa Corner, a coffee shop just five minutes up the Edgware Road. She added: “It has amazing breakfast/brunch options and is reasonably priced!”

There is always pressure to get good deals at London hotels so if you’re planning a visit to The Poker Room we strongly recommend that you check out your accommodation options now with MainEventTravel.com, Grosvenor's Official Travel Partner.
