Saturday may have been the day that King Charles was coronated, but it was also the Gary Miller Day at Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City as he snagged the chip lead midway through the day in the Spring Poker Festival £600 Main Event and never looked back.
Miller (pictured above) already won the Spring Poker Fest High Roller earlier this week. He is in the driver's seat for a second title this festival as he cruised on Day 2 of the Main Event before bagging a substantial chip-leading stack of 1,800,000. This is nearly double that of his nearest competitor in Hamid Rowshanaei (962,000) ended the day with and nearly triple anyone else with Sebastien Jung (686,000), Hongting Xu (658,000), and Stephane Nadot (552,000) ending the day in the top five.
A little luck never hurt as Miller won two big pots while behind. He first won the biggest pot of the day midway through the action when his ace-king got there against cowboys to bust Jen Chiang in a pot north of around 1 million chips. He then won a pot for half as much near the end of the day when he eliminated Keith Hoang. Hoang got it in with top pair on the turn against Miller who had both a flush draw and open-ended straight draw. The flush draw got there and the rest was history.
The Main Event attracted 313 entries for a £163,950 prize pool to smash the £150,000 guarantee. The action will resume at 3 p.m. on Sunday with 21 hopefuls in contention with each player locking up £1,700. All players have their eyes on the trophy along with the huge £35,500 top prize.

Sang Nguyen open-jammed for 108,000 from early position. Umberto De Padua called off his stack of 38,000 from the lojack before James Marshall went into the tank. Marshall eventually folded and the following conversation took place before the cards took over.
"Let me guess what you have," said Ramakrishnan Iyer to Marshall. "You had pocket tens."
"Yes," Marshall confirmed without showing his hand.
Umberto De Padua:
Sang Nguyen:
"Nice fold," Ramakrishnan said to Marshall after Nguyen nailed two pair on the flop. The

If Marshall indeed had tens, he would have won the hand. If he didn't, he did a good job acting as he appeared disappointed about the final card of the hand.
