Players were ready for battle for the second of four days in the flagship event of the 2023 World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Tallinn in the €1 million guaranteed Event #6: €1,500 Main Event on Friday at Olympic Park Casino and the Hilton Park Tallinn.
Local Estonian hero Henrik Uibo (pictured above) was the star of the day as he transformed his stack of 149,000 chips he began the day with into a massive 1,765,000 stack after taking the chip lead midway through the day at the televised feature table at OlyBet.tv.
The four opening flights attracted 617 entries and 282 survivors. Late registration remained open for the first two levels of Day 2 with the field eventually growing by another 102 entries to a final total of 719 entries.
Payouts were announced shortly after late registration closed with the top 87 players locking down at least a min-cash of €3,050 with €211,500 on the line for Sunday's eventual Main Event ring champion.
The electric atmosphere added to the excitement with a €1 million guaranteed prize pool which was especially felt around the bubble which lasted nearly a full blind level causing many of the shorter stacks to sweat it out hoping another player would hit the rail.
For a while, the short stacks kept doubling whether via a flip or utter domination. However, all good things must come to an end for one unfortunate player with Latvia's Kristaps Renga running his jacks unsuccessfully into Seppo Parkkinen's cowboys to finish on player shy for the money on the bubble (pictured below). After that several players went out in the money with the 60 returning players all locking up at least €3,300.
Uibo isn't the only chip millionaire in the mix as several others ended Day 2 with seven-figure stacks including Akseli Paalanen (1,300,000), Marko Harkonen (1,205,000), Luca Beretta (1,155,000), Vu Hoang Vuong (1,135,000), Jesus Ucero (1,100,000), Artur Kulanurk (1,085,000), and the aforementioned Seppo Parkkinen (1,015,000).

We will update you with some fun stats over the next few days about the Main Event.
The first piece of knowledge you already know is that the Main Event attracted 719 entries. This was a result of 539 unique players and 180 re-entries.
Finland boasted both the most unique players and entries with 141 uniques and 227 entries, while the home country of Estonia was second with 126 uniques and 180 entries.
One lesson learned here is that both Finnish and Estonian players are re-entering more on average when compared to the entire field. Will this result in a Main Event champion from one of these countries? Time will tell.
Best of luck to all of the remaining players regardless of their home country.

Jarmo Salonen opened for 5,500 from under the gun before Jari Mahonen three-bet shoved from middle position for 50,000.
"Well, well," Salonen said to his country-mate.
"Well, well," said Mahonen right as Salonen was about to call. "Double me up, please."
Jari Mahonen:
Jarmo Salonen:
The board didn't push Mahonen past Salonen and he headed back to the cashier to re-enter while Salonen added to his already impressive chip stack.

The Main Event field has been growing with already 50 new entries getting into the mix. This means the tables outside the main ballroom are in use including where the following hand took place at Table 41.
It was a small blind vs. blind pot when Tadas Karosas check-raised Kyosti Isberg from 7,000 to 18,000 with the on the board after the turn. Isberg called and both players checked the
river.
Karosas turned over and this was no match to the two pair by Isberg with

Mairo Tori opened for a min-raise from under the gun before Akseli Paalanen three-bet jammed for 46,000 from the button. Ken Okada four-bet shoved for two big blinds more from the small blind and Tori folded.
Akseli Paalanen:
Ken Okada:
It appeared Paalanen would hit the rail after the flop improved Okada to a set of tens. However, the
turn changed everything back as it was with Paalanen back on top. Okada got out of his chair ready to leave the tournament area after the
river completed the board but the dealer quickly called him back as he had some crumbs to potentially spin up. Okada dusted this off shortly after and was on the rail potentially getting ready to re-enter.

Even before the start of the action, 30 new players joined on Day 2 to bring the total field up to 645 entries and counting.
Players have unbagged their chips followed by some preliminary announcements. Cards were in the air moments later. Best of luck to all of the Day 2 players.
Welcome to what promises to be an exciting day as the €1 million guaranteed WSOPC Tallinn €1,500 Main Event progresses to Day 2 on Friday at noon at the luxurious surroundings of Olympic Park Casino and the Hilton Tallinn Park.
The plan for today is for players to battle for 10 more blind levels of 40 minutes each in hopes of putting themselves in a prime position to advance to Sunday's final table.
The first two levels will be action-packed as players can still late register and re-enter up until the start of the third blind level of the day. The field stood at 617 entries after the four opening flights with plenty of more players expected, especially considering at least 15 new players are coming into the field via last night's midnight mega satellite.
Finland's Joel Holmberg bagged the overall chip lead on Day 1c with 318,000. He was the only player above 300,000 to end any of the opening flights with Jonatan Fors, Day 1b chip leader Urmo Velvelt, Estonia's Tarmo Tammel (pictured below), and Lithuania's Mantas Bagocius all not too far from Holmberg to start Day 2.
