Excitement builds for Hippodrome’s Super Super Series

Excitement is building for the Hippodrome Casino’s “Super Super Series” which is being held at the celebrated central London venue next week.

 

The Super Super Series festival, which runs from September 14 - 18, is a five-day celebration taking place in Lola’s, the new dedicated tournament space on the lower ground floor of The Hippodrome.

 

The highlight of the festival is the £550 buy-in Super Series Main Event which this time comes with a massive £85,000 guarantee. The expanded schedule also includes a two-day £220 PLO tournament and a two-day £275 Mystery Bounty as well as a £220 NLH turbo and £175 NLH Bounty event.

 

On-demand, £75 single table super satellites will be taking place for the £550 buy-in Main Event every day from September 12. There is also a £150 scheduled Mega Satellite at 7pm on September 15 – with one seat guaranteed for every four players.

 

The Main Event features three starting flights including a Day 1c turbo starting at 7pm on September 17. All players get 30,000 in chips with two re-entries allowed per event. There will be eight levels of late registration with Day 1 playing down to 15%; all Day 1 survivors get paid.

 

Hippodrome Ambassador Chris Da-silva, who cashed in The Hippodrome Mini Series in July 2019, said: “The Super Super Series is a great little short stop – a few days jam-packed with exciting events. The schedule for this one looks exciting with something for everyone. Also the Main Event has an even bigger guarantee – not that the Hippodrome really needs a guarantee as they always get great numbers. I am really looking forward to it and hopefully I can get a nice little run going!”

 

The Hippodrome Casino launched the Super Series back in 2017, building on the success of earlier Series events and there has been a four- to five-day festival held every year since then.

 

At the last Super Series in July – a £550 stand-alone Main Event – Portugal’s Henrique Mendes took it down for a career-best cash of £33,550 after beating a field of 355 entries. 50+ players made the money with a min-cash worth £830.

 

Kerryjane Craigie, Director of Poker at The Hippodrome Casino, said: “The Super Series has gone from strength to strength and is a real hit with both regulars and visitors at the Hippodrome. We are full of excitement and anticipation for our event in September which is the first we have hosted solo this year in the new poker tournament home at Lola’s. 

 

“The schedule has something for everyone with a great mix of buy-ins, variations and structures.  The Super Series is really the “big sister” to the Series events – we’ve doubled the buy-in, the clock has increased and the guarantee is bigger too. It’s a very appealing event for recreational and regular poker players alike.

 

“We have a bunch of side events so there really is something to suit all budgets – and the new location at Lola’s on the lower ground floor means that we don’t need to interrupt the very strong cash game action in the new poker room upstairs on the 3rd floor.”
