Grosvenor sponsored pro Ludovic Geilich has sensationally won a second GUKPT title, taking down the £1,250 buy-in Main Event in Blackpool for £56,150. His victory comes only two months after he joined Team Grosvenor and less than four months since finishing fourth in Blackpool last November.
Geilich said: “Callum is a very tough opponent. He’s never been knocked out in Blackpool! He played a great strategy heads-up and I played the exact same strategy so I’m over the moon to win.”
British player Peter Flynn (pictured below) shipped the GUKPT Blackpool Mini Main Event, beating a 379-entry field to win a career-best £14,610. The total prize pool was £75,040 with 50 places paid. Among those getting a slice of the cake were Tim Chung, Wendy Watson MBE, Cristian Popescu and Arian Kashani.
Cal Morreale
2023 Player of the Year Cal Morreale (pictured below) added more points to his standings in the current National Poker League when he took down yet another tournament at GUKPT Blackpool. He outlasted a field of 103 players to win the £200 turbo for £4,330. The total prize pool was £17,800. Morreale has already had some 20 cashes this year, taking down the Omaha 4/5/6 event at the UK Poker Open, cashing five times at GUKPT London in January, winning the Grosvenor 25/50 series in Luton for £22,965, cashing three times at GUKPT Manchester and three times in the new 888poker UK Poker League. Morreale won a £40k Grosvenor Sponsorship package last year after dominating the Player of the Year leaderboard. He’s currently miles ahead of his nearest rival in the league – Matt Davenport, who was the 2022 Player of the Year.
High Roller
