Huge schedule released for the Malta Poker Festival

The Malta Poker Festival has released a whopper of a schedule for this Autumn’s extravaganza at Portomaso Casino. There are some 30 tournaments taking place from October 27 to November 4, including the €550 Grand Event, €1,100 Unibet DSO GOLD High Roller and a €2,500 Super High Roller.

 

The MPF, which was nominated for a Global Poker Award this year, has been a booming success story since it first launched in 2019. Field sizes and prize pools have soared with players relishing the chance to enjoy poker in a top tourist destination at a great time of the year.

The €500k guaranteed Grand Event


The highlight of this Autumn’s festival is the €500,000 guaranteed Grand Event which kicks off on October 27. There’s a special buy-in price on Day 1a – just €400 for those players canny enough to arrive at the festival early. There are a further seven start flights available for a buy-in of €550, with two re-entries permitted per flight. Players get going with a generous 50,000 chip stack and 15% of the field will finish in the money at the end of each Day 1.

 

Other highlights on the schedule include the two-day, €1,100 Unibet DSO GOLD High Roller starting on November 2 with a €50,000 guaranteed prize pool, the €250 buy-in Hendon Mob Championship on October 30, and the €120 APAT Maltese Championship on November 2.

 

The €230 buy-in LuxonPay Mystery Bounty on November 1 offers incredible value with a €5k package for MPP Cyprus added to the prize pool. The €200 Halloween Special Edition tournament on October 31 will be awarding a special prize for the best costume.

 

Making poker fun


The Malta Poker Festival knows how to make poker fun and gets a lot of stars involved in hosting events. This Autumn that includes PokerStars Ambassador Kerryjane Craigie who will be looking after the €200 buy-in Ladies First! tournament once again. That event takes place on November 2 and is definitely NOT one to be missed. Not only does it feature a €10k guaranteed prize pool but it also includes an added package for the PokerStars Women's Winter Festival at The Hippodrome Casino in London.

 

EPT Dortmund champion Andreas Høivold is returning to Portomaso Casino for the first time in almost ten years to host the €300 Seniors Event on Sunday, November 3. Other stars making an appearance will include WSOPC champion Mayoman who is hosting the PLO Knights Crusader tournament and top Norwegian pro Jon Kyte headlining the HORSE Event. Eva “Chic” Jiretorn will ensure everyone has a blast in the Sviten Special on October 29. Other tourneys on the schedule include a €2,200 Super High Roller, Bounty Hunter, MPF Deepstack, Win the Button and loads of satellites.

 

Portomaso is a fabulous marina located in the buzzing resort of St Julian’s. It’s an ideal poker venue with tons of great places to stay, eat and drink, lots going on at night and usually superb weather.

 

At the last MPF in April, French player Jordan Dumas took down the €550 Grand Event for €100,900. The tournament attracted 1,460 entries creating a €504,600 prize pool.
