There are only a few days to go before the start of the United Kingdom Poker Championships (UKPC) at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham.
The event, which is being revived this month after a five-year hiatus, features a £500,000 guaranteed Main Event along with a £230 buy-in Warm-up event starting on Sunday, two £1,100 High Rollers and a £2,700 Super High Roller. Overall, the total prize pool guarantees amount to nearly £1 million.
The Main Event, which costs £560 to enter, kicks off with two online Day 1s which are taking place on headline sponsor GGPoker. The live Main Event Day 1s at Dusk Till Dawn get going on Friday, January 13. All players will receive a 200,000 starting stack, with a single re-entry allowed per flight – Day 1a, Day 1b or Day 1c.
The schedule closely mirrors the last UKPC event which was held in 2018. There are two High Rollers in the mix as well as a Super High Roller, albeit all at slightly reduced buy-in levels. Other events on the busy schedule include the two-day £230 UKPC Warm-up – which comes with a £100,000 guaranteed prize pool, a 7-Max Knockout, a 6-Max Knockout, a 6-Max Turbo Knockout and PLO. The live dates at Dusk Till Dawn run from January 8 to January 16. A total of £970,000 in guaranteed prize pools is on offer during the festival.

The relaunch of the UKPC comes after Rob Yong sounded out the poker community last year, asking players on Twitter if they would like the event to make a comeback. Dozens of players gave the plan a big thumbs up including Ben Dobson, Paul Romain and former finalist Carl Jones. Further feedback led Dusk Till Dawn to ensure the event was appealing to a wide range of players, with an affordable buy-in and single re-entry.
At the 2018 event, Christopher Brice won the £1,100 Main Event for £187,500 after outlasting a 1,076-entry field. Steven Morris finished fifth – for £40k – only days after winning the £5,300 Super High Roller for £70k. Jake Cody won the High Roller for £42,670.
Dusk Till Dawn always has a great roster of live events going on as well as a ton of cash games. Rob Yong launched the club in 2007 as a place specifically designed to play poker. It has stayed true to its roots ever since. The 45-table venue now hosts some of the biggest tournaments in Europe as well as myriad cash games tables from as low as £1/£1 NLHE and PLO.
