The €700,000 guarantee PokerStars Festival Dublin is well underway attracting 137 entries for Day 1a of the €1,100 event yesterday.
Don’t miss forthcoming PokerStars events including PokerStars Festival Sochi (October 16-22), PokerStars Festival Hamburg from November 17-26 and the annual blockbuster in Prague. PokerStars Championship Prague runs December 8-19 in the Czech capital.
Former WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker finished his day well up with 179,900 but it’s Ireland’s Yuriy Boyko who leads the 42 survivors with 196,900.
Andy Black, #1 on the Ireland all-time money list, made it to the tournament room bright and early and was building a decent stack towards the middle of the day, but fell short of bagging up chips.
Among those who will be competing on Day 1b today are MainEventTravel CEO Fraser MacIntyre, seven-time World Snooker Champion Stephen Hendry, former footballer Michael Duberry and Wayne Bridge, as well as triple crown winner Jake Cody, Niall Farrell, Ludovic Geilich and Kelly Saxby.
This year's festival got off to a rip-roaring start with the PokerStars Megastack, a €50,000 guarantee for just a €170 buy-in attracting 465 players, smashing the guarantee by almost €20,000.
