The hugely successful UKIPT Tour is heading to London next week for another six-day extravaganza in the heart of the capital. UKIPT London – the third UKIPT event of the year – is taking place at the Hippodrome, a landmark casino just off Leicester Square in London’s buzzing West End.
With a £1,100 buy-in Main Event and numerous other tournaments on the schedule, UKIPT London promises a feast of exciting poker action starting next Tuesday, September 19. Flagship events include the £2,200 High Roller (Sept 20-21), the £1,100 Main Event (Sept 21-24) and the £330 Cup (Sept 23-24). Other tournaments include a £220 charity event next Wednesday, several NLH freezeouts and a £220 Women’s Event on Sunday, September 24.

Spraggy wins UKIPT Brighton
The newly revived UKIPT tour has proved a huge success and the Brighton event was a very welcome return to the South Coast resort. PokerStars Team Pro Benjamin Spragg (pictured along with final table) – known as “Spraggy” – took down the Main Event for £69,000 after beating a 352-entry field and a star-studded final table. His heads-up opponent Dominik Nitsche, who snagged £42,150 for his runner-up finish, is one of Germany’s most successful live players with more than $20 million in live tournament winnings to his name.
PokerStars Ambassador Adam McKola, a well-known football YouTuber and podcaster, started the day as the short stack but managed to finish in third place for £30,100. He only took up poker two years ago but his dedication has paid off.
After the tournament, Spraggy said: “I’m genuinely really emotional. I didn’t think I would be because there was such a good atmosphere at the final table, it didn’t feel like a final table. Having Adam there and other players I know, it didn’t feel that intense.”
The £337,920 total prize pool was shared amongst the top 54 finishers. PokerStars Power Path Silver Pass winner Oliver Hutchins turned $11 into £23,160 for his fourth-place finish. The event attracted a ton of well-known players and many of them cashed including Mitch Johnson, Andrew Teng, James Dempsey, Marle Spragg, Triple Crown winner Niall Farrell, Ian Simpson, Ryan Mandara, Conor Beresford, Leo Worthington-Leese, Daniel Laidlaw and Brighton-based American Deborah Worley-Roberts who also finished second in the Women’s Event on the last day. Irish Open champ David Docherty finished 26th and added a whole load of more points to extend his lead on the UKIPT leader board.
Among those who also headed home with a trophy was Kerryjane Craigie (pictured) who is Director of Poker at The Hippodrome Casino. She won the lively Women’s Event for £1,874 after beating Deborah Worley-Roberts heads-up.
