The counts are in and Christopher Lawson bagged the big stack from Day 1b but he's still looking up at the Day 1a leader Eric Josselyn. A total of four 1b players bagged stacks in the 200k range, which makes a total of seven players returning for Day 2 with more than 200k in their bags.

Day 1b Action

Day 1b got going with a big field and in the early running it looked like the field could match the 2023 numbers. The entry pace stayed brisk through the first four levels of play, but then slowed considerably as the end of registration closed in.

When all was said and done there were 118 entries for Day 1b, 23 more than Day 1a, but significantly down from 2023's total. From there, it was a race to finish, but pretty much right from the start of Level 9 it looked like they wouldn't make it to the 14% figure of 17 players.

That proved to be true with 22 players bagging chips in the end. Chris Lawson bagged the biggest stack in 1b with 246.5k, but that's still more than 50k behind the 1a chip leader Eric Josselyn. Other 1b players to bag big stacks were Herbert Zamora, Dylan Webb, and Nadav Bitton.

There are 27 players left in 1b now and they've just broken down to three tables left. There are a bit more than 20 minutes left in Level 14, but they'll pause the clock with 10 minutes remaining to draw for the number of hands left to play in the night.

At this point, it seems almost certain they'll bag up more than 17 players, so the average bounty will be somewhat reduced from the number I quoted earlier. I'll update that later tonight, and also looks like the original prize pool posted had an error. I've uploaded the corrected version to the Payouts tab now, but first place is still set to pocket more than $15k.

They Day 1b players are back from dinner now and entries are officially closed for the Mystery Bounty. It looks like 1b ended with 118 entries for a two-day total of 213 and $121,410 in total prizes.

If those numbers hold, it looks like they'll play down to 17 players tonight, or until the end of Leve 14, whichever comes first. That would likely mean 34 players returning for Day 2 to compete for 27 paid spots, though Day 2 could be bigger if 1b finishes with more than 17.

I'll confirm all the numbers shortly when the prize pool is posted.
