The 2024 Kings of Tallinn €1,100 Main Event has already more than lived up to its billing and will be easily the largest in the festival's 10-year history. The €500,000 guarantee was smashed less than midway through the day with nearly €600,000 in the prize pool with still tonight's Day 1c and four levels of late registration on tomorrow's Day 2 not yet factored in.

Day 1b attracted 385 entries to bring the total number of entries up to 623 entries when taking into account the 238 entries on Wednesday's Day 1a. Remarkably, already 254 players have punched their tickets including 167 players on Day 1b into Day 2.

Earlier this week, Sven Omland shipped the two-day Kings of Tallinn €350 Cup for €19,200. Today he shined the brightest again amongst the massive field and bagged the Day 1b chip lead with 233,800.

This still places him far behind the more than 300,000 bagged on Day 1a by Christian "Sleeping Beauty" Rysgaard. You can read more about that by clicking on "Day 1a" in our coverage.

Omland wasn't the only one who advanced with a big stack on Day 1b as Latvia's Adrian Imsa (205,600), Spain's Josep Pastor (196,400), Finland's Henri Wagner (193,500), and local hero Ramel Kasi (180,500) all were picking up pots from the opening bell and dominating throughout the day to end in the top five on the leaderboard.

Players are bagging their chips into tomorrow's Day 2. We will update the final chip counts of the day in about an hour.

Meanwhile, Day 1c kicks off at 9 p.m. We will not be covering that flight but will provide the final chip counts and the seat draw for tomorrow's Day 2 upon its conclusion. If you believe the 2023 Kings of Tallinn Summer Showdown Main Event runner-up Phil Gross (pictured below), it is going to be huge as he shared that he believes there will be more than 225 entries in the final opening flight alone and was willing to put a drink bet behind that statement.

Players can get into the action even after Day 1c as late registration will remain open during the first four blind levels of tomorrow's Day 2.

Vaidas Daunaravicius paused for a few moments before he called off his stack of around 20,000. Pastor had the nuts with with a timely river to send Daunaravicius to the rail near the end of Day 1b after he turned over the for an overpair to the board.

As we mentioned earlier today, Kaisa Soursa traveled with her friend and Kings of Tallinn veteran Anne Bezdek (pictured below) from Finland to enjoy an extended week of poker action and good company at Olympic Park Casino.

They were sitting side-by-side on Table 21 and just noticed that Bezdek was not in her seat. Antti Perttula, who was also at the table, confirmed that Bezdek lost her stack and didn't simply move tables.

We learned a little later, that it was Soursa who was responsible for bringing a little friend vs. friend crime into the mix.

Perttula shared that Bezdek jammed for 14 big blinds from under the gun with king-nine. Soursa, who was one seat over, isolated with aces. The board ran dry for Bezdek and she will likely take comfort that it is travel buddy who has her chips instead of someone that she doesn't know.

Federico Cipollini bet 11,500 from the big blind into a pot north of 25,000 with the on the board. Santtu Leinonen (pictured below) jammed for 38,800 and Cipollini tanked for about five minutes.

Cipollini separated out the chips he would have needed to call and was trying to ask Leinonen questions. Leinonen stayed stoically quiet and stared down at the table the entire time.

Eventually, Rolf Jauring called for time. The floor came over and consulted with the dealer who confirmed that Cipollini had plenty of time before the clock was called.

Cipollini opted to fold as the clock hit 1 second. He flashed first to his neighbor and then to the entire table that he made a big fold with thinking his trip ducks weren't good enough.

Leinonen opted not to show his hand, so we will never know if it was a good results-oriented fold or not.

Justas Semaska (pictured below) tanked for more than a minute before he jammed for 19,200. Zielinski was busy getting a massage and asked for a count. His massage continued but his decision was still forthcoming. About a minute later he asked how much the bet was again.

"Too much," Zielinski said before folding his hand.

Semaska breathed a huge sigh of relief and showed a player on the rail his cards.

"Show one, show all," said the dealer.

Semaska then turned over his cards to show he made a move with the bottom pair along with a gutshot Broadway and backdoor flush draw with .

Anne Bezdek has been part of the Kings of Tallinn fabric since the beginning of the event in 2015. She traveled to Estonia with her close friend Kaisa Soursa, and as fate would have it the two players are sitting side by side at Table 21.

Both players are above a starting stack but Soursa's stack is nearly a triple starting stack. It could have been more as she doubled up Antti Perttula when her king-queen didn't get there against ace-king.

"I remember there were two fives on the board," Bezdek said with a friendly smile. "And I had ten-five."

Meanwhile, Perttula took a bad beat shortly after we witnessed the fun table dynamic between two friends. Romet Martjan got his last 10,200 in the middle with king-ten and nailed a king on the flop to double up with Perttula's pocket queens missing the cut.

Finnish online poker legend Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies (pictured below) is a staple here in Tallinn having attended many of the bigger festivals over the years. He is busy getting a massage and trying to build a stack.

To Ziigmund's left is the charismatic Estonian Andrey Koks and to his right is last night's eighth-place finisher in the €555 Championship Matte Karjalainen creating an interesting trio sitting side by side.

Karjalainen recently won a small pot to get back above a starting stack, while Koks is still above a starting stack as well.

Magic flew through the air earlier this week when Paul Koppe (pictured below) defeated Janne Nevalainen heads-up in the €555 PLO Mystery Bounty after flopping a rare Royal Flush. Koppe then proceeded to take down the largest mystery bounty from the event and more.

Now, Koppe has the magical chair as he is seated in Seat 1 at Table 1 and has used that magic his poker acumen to chip up nicely on Day 1b. We learned that he picked up a big stack in a spot that would have awarded a bad beat jackpot downstairs in the casino in the cash games when his ace-king beat pocket kings with two aces and a king on the board.

In a more recent hand, Koppe fired out for 15,000 with the  on the board. Jesper Hansen went into the tank for about two minutes before he called.

Hansen mucked his hand after Koppe turned over the for a full house, however, he told the table later when they asked that he had ace-king.

Byrne, who hasn't been witnessed above a starting stack the entire day, changed that by winning a small pot off Piik. 

Piik picked up some chips before this and is well north of a starting stack.

"I punted my stack," Napel said with a smile.

"We were laughing because the floor was called at the end of the hand," Manns added. "Napel didn't want to show his cards at showdown when there was an all-in and a call."

Manns and Napel shared a little bit about the hand after the laughter died down.

Manns opened with cowboys and was called by Napel to see the flop. Both players checked the turn before Napel four-bet shoved the river.

It is always a pleasure to see Germany's Sascha Manns in Tallinn. Manns shared last night that other operators should pay attention to what happens in Estonia as it is the perfect combination of poker and fun.

Manns had a little less fun thus far in the Main Event and was the first player on the rail. He was also the first player to re-enter. We caught up to the table after we saw him standing up and he recapped the action as he was heading to re-enter.

It was a three-bet pot when Manns check-called a bet by Adrians Imsa (pictured below) on the flop. Manns check-raised the turn leaving just 9,000 back. That went in on the river and Imsa quickly called.

Welcome back to the live reporting coverage of the 2024 Kings of Tallinn €1,100 Main Event at Olympic Park Casino and the Hilton Tallinn Park. 

The €500,000 guarantee will likely be smashed today with yesterday witnessing a banner crowd of 238 entries. Today boasts the final two opening flights in Day 1b at 12 p.m. and Day 1c at 9 p.m. The field will grow even bigger after that with late registration open for the first four blind levels of Friday's Day 2.

Players start with a deep stack of 30,000 in chips good for 300 big blinds if playing from Level 1. Blinds increase slowly at one-hour each throughout the tournaments providing an amazing structure. The only exception to this is during tonight's Day 1c, which will boast 30-minute levels.

Opening flight players will battle for eight blind levels. Currently, Christian "Sleeping Beauty" Rysgaard remarkably catapulted his 30,000 opening stack into 304,300 during yesterday's Day 1a to sit on top of the leaderboard heading into Thursday.

Our coverage begins when cards are in the air for Day 1b at 12 p.m. While we won't be covering the turbo Day 1c, we do promise at the end of the day to provide chip counts and a Day 2 seat draw for tomorrow.
