Lari Pukkila checked the flop before Viktors Caikins bet 18,000 into a pot of a bit more. Linus Lauermann raised to 44,000 before Pukkila jammed for about 150,000 after tanking for a minute. Caikins tanked as well for a minute before he called off for about 65,000.
"This is actually a sick spot," said Lauermann. "I know you have aces or queens."
Lauermann shared he had ace-queen but didn't show his hand before he folded.

Lari Pukkila:
It was good that he listened to his read as if he had ace-queen he would be behind both players. Caikins, despite having the best hand preflop was drawing to just two outs for a better set. Neither the turn nor the river got the job done and Calkins was on the rail.

Alari Kadanik:
Vytautas Kacerauskas:

"Well, at least I am ahead this time," Lauermann said in a friendly manner to Mattila. "At least you can re-enter if you don't get there."
Mattila was behind but had some hope with a double-gutshot straight draw. The turn and river weren't the cards Mattila needed to get ahead and he lost his stack to Lauermann.
"I plan to re-enter, but first I will grab something to eat," Mattila shared with us from the rail after the hand.

Davide Muccine began today with less than a starting stack and has had a heck of a run and is about double the average stack mostly thanks to the following hand.
Touko Berndtson jammed tons more than the pot on the double-paired board. Muccine went into the tank for several minutes before a player called time. With about 15 seconds left, Muccine found a hero call.
Berndtson turned over . As his pair was lower than the pairs on the board, he basically had a nine kicker to the board. Meanwhile, Muccine made a gutsy call with to win the hand with his ace kicker.
"It is good the clock was called," commented Eirimas Tomkevicius, who was also at the table. "You may have talked yourself into a fold if you had more time."
Muccine neither confirmed nor denied that statement and after building his stack he left the room for an unscheduled break.

Justas Brazlauskis:

Main Event Day 2
Level 9: 500/1,000 (1,000)
Entries: 331/630
The Main Event has just kicked off after some preliminary announcements by the tournament staff. There were already 26 new entries to bring the field up to 624 and counting.
Best of luck to all the players batting it out today for Kings of Tallinn glory!
The 2023 Kings of Tallinn €1,100 Main Event attracted 604 entries during the three opening flights with 305 players advancing to Friday's Day 2. The prize pool blossomed to €567,760 to smash the €500,000 guarantee.
This is not all as thanks to late registration remaining open with unlimited re-entries during the first two blind levels of Day 2, the field and prize pool will continue to grow. Now all eyes are on whether a new record will be set for this event.
The previous record took place just before the pandemic in 2020 when 674 entries came out in full force to generate a €640,300 prize pool. Johan Karlsson, who is in this year's Main Event field, won that event for €126,300 after agreeing to a heads-up deal with Ermo Kosk before defeating him in heads-up play. Will a new record be set? Time will tell.
The plan for today is to play eight blind levels of 60 minutes each starting with 500/1,000 and a 1,000 big ante. This equates to 30 big blinds for those entering or re-entering at the start of Day 2.
Julius Tiihonen will enter today as the chip leader after parlaying his 30,000 opening stack into 244,000 in chips on Day 1a. No other player bagged more than 200,000 in chips but several came close including Day 1b chip leader Dennis Berglin (192,000), GGPoker Ambassador Anatoly Filatov (175,600), Tommi Lankinen (174,800), and Armend Sahiti (173,700).
The action will kick off at noon. Stay tuned to watch the 2023 Kings of Tallinn unfold.
